Well it would seem that plenty of you are happy to download my CV but not many found anything worthwhile to comment on. I find that very interesting - and not surprising.

Well I hope it was a good read for you all anyway. I can only surmise that I have everything absolutely right and there was no necessity for amendments. Except I know that is not the truth as I found plenty myself upon reflection.

Anyway - I have applied for the MD's job as well as another Directors position which you can see here!

I suspect my days of holding a Livejournal account are numbered.

Mood: sleepy.
Back from Monaco. Yup - did the Grand Prix this year, but did it in style!

Thursday we watched the free practice on the Atlantide in Monaco harbour - only feet from the track. you can see the location on the link and some piccies of the boat. The sight (and extreme noise) was amazing. Ear plugs were provided. we got to walk everywhere on that day past the pits, drivers trucks, mechanics etc. From the boat we could see the cars come out of the tunnel - through the chicane and then round the left hand corner into the swimming pool part of the circuit. We could also see them going up the hill at after the start/finish line. It was fun.

Friday we spent the day at the Huit et Demi restaurant just eating and drinking and chatting. Very relaxing and just what I needed.

Saturday for qualifying we went to David Coulthards hotel The Columbus! This was very very nice (and also cost a lorra lorra money for lunch). Here we sat and relaxed on the terrace having lunch and lots of Rose (again). Very nice.

An early night on Saturday for the race on Sunday where we went to the Cafe de Paris on Casine square - very very posh but a great location. Here we sat outside on the terrace again - which is raised from the lower casino level. We watched the cars fly round again in the morning, followed by Formula 3000, Porsche Supercup and then the race (after a delicious lunch). The only problem is that you had to wear a suit and walking there it got verey very hot. Once sat down though we soon cooled off.

Following the race we stayed at the cafe de paris until late and then visited Zebra Square, Stars and Bars on the harbour and then homes to sleepy time.

Monday we visited La Note Bleu on Larvotto beach and then came home with the help of Monaco Heli Air (ahh the only way to get to the airport).

It was just what I needed - a totally relaxing break. Met lots of people my friend (who lives there) knows through his job and had invites to all kinds of places - Dubai and Oman amongst others. I'm fully refreshed, if a little tired but can't wait to see my gorgeous girlie this weekend (its been too long and we have some cuddling to catch up on).

Ah well - back to work (and the 468 emails which have accrused in my absence).

Just cos I had to:

professor x
You are Professor X!

You are a very effective teacher, and you are very
committed to those who learn from you. You put
your all into everything you do, to some extent
because you fear failure more than anything
else. You are always seeking self-improvement,
even in areas where there is nothing you can do
to improve.

Which X-Men character are you most like?

You are THE LEAD GUITAR: beautiful and complex..
But do I really need to swell your head any
more than it already is? Let someone else have
the spotlight every once in a while.

What rock-band instrument are you?

Hokay - erm I am still alive! I thought I would get that out first and foremost to avoid the comments!

Reason for my prolonged absence has been the fact that I do not have sufficient net access in my new house to be as prominent online as I would normally - plus the luverly the_pink_girl has been staying with me for the last week and so we've been enjoying each others company!

Its been a really pleasant week with lots of luverly food and stuff but unfortunately no drinking sessions as poor old the_pink_girl has had tonsilitis and thus was on antibiotics! Its all been good fun anyway and now we both have to suffer not seeing each other until the new year! :0(

Roll on the new year I say! :0)

In other news - financial circumstances in my life have taken a dramatic turn for the better and so I will be much better off in the near future (from February). So much so that I have taken it upon myself to buy a new car with my new found wealth!

I have a few options to explore but am totally open to suggestions - the only stipulation is that the car must be new!!

So here are my choices - lemme know what you think and if you can think of any others which may appeal to me - please add them!

Poll cutCollapse )

Subject:Sooooooooo ...
Time:5:48 pm.
Shopping proved to be - ummm expensive! I would be ok if I wasn't such a flipping snob!

Anywayz bought the following:

Salt and pepper mills (all chrome stylee), oven gloves (oooh), tea towels, cutlery (lots of fancy shaped stainless steel type stuff), a griddle (stove top type thing), griddling book (ahh it was only £3 with the griddle from M&S) a wok, a tin opener (rather snazzy chrome type thingy), place mats, coasters, fish slice, spoon and potato masher and tin opener (all matching stainless steel type stuff), air fresheners, dustpan and brush, shoe polish, jay cloths, cheese grater, toast rack, kitchen roll holder and some more cleaning products!

Sheesh this moving house malarky is proving more and more expensive every day! Must be well over another £150 blown today! EEK! Thank heavens I get paid next week - plus I have some monies coming back from the solicitor - Yay! :0)

Ho hum - off to do more packing!

Subject:I did some stuff!
Time:2:55 pm.
I can't remember what I last posted! Did I say the doc has signed me off for another week and changed my antibiotics - probably - sheesh I must be getting boring!

Well it is only 8.5 days now until I get my house and I have boxes of "stuff" all packed up, taped and labelled with the appropriate signage - like "Kitchen - Fragile" etc. I still have all my books to go - of which there are many! I have plethora of cleaning products ready for the first blitz on the house when I get the keys next Thursday! The idea is that I get the keys and spend the whole of that day cleaning the place from top to bottom and working out whats been left etc etc (I mean over and above the fixtures and fittings list). Then Friday I move the "stuff"! Well actually I don't - my friends do and I just "put away"!

I have the champagne ready for the celebration once settled. I have a million and one ickle things that I need to get for the house. Silly things that I never realised I didn't have or had lost etc etc. I am making a list and am slowly buying the bits and bobs. I guess thats something I will do over time though.

I have just bought some pillowcases (luverly feather ones) and this duvet cover and matching Oxford pillowcases (which is pretty cool - well I like it and at least its not black satin huh?).

Somewhat fortunately I guess my birthday is not too far after I move in so my family are buying me housey type things that I need for my birthday - which again is nice! Funny though that I seem to have all the large expensive items like sofa, freezer, washing machine etc but am missing little things like an iron (cos mines broken it would seem) and a bathroom mirror - I get to shave right under a velux rooflight every morning - how cool! :0)

Ummmmm so I guess I will tootle off now and contine to buy stuff and pack! Sheesh - where is all my money going!

Subject:Quick update
Time:10:05 am.
Whilst I can!

My illness progressed throughout the week and resulted in a trip to A&E on Wednesday on account of me being pretty bad. I can get out of bed for brief spells now (like 20 minutes or so) but then the weakness hits me and I have to go and sleep for hours again. I've been really ill and at times during the week quite worried for myself. My Mum has been distraught, the GP has been useless - and as such will be receiving a well constructed letter from my friend Mark on his company letter head (PI Solicitors) just to scare them as much as I was (well nearly) when I couldn't get anyone to see me.

I have to say a huge thanks to my Mum and Dad for their immense support for me whilst I've been unable to even move myself at times without re-decorating a room (sorry if thats too much info). Turns out I have a bad case of Campylobacter which although cited as common on the web my doctor (whilst on the phone apologising I hasten to add) did tell me it was quite rare which is why they didn't think my case serious. I KNEW that it was. The practise had to suffer the wrath of Mrs M anyway when my Mum went down there - so I don't envy them that. Mum can be very protective of her little soldier when he's really unwell.

Have to say a huge thankyou to my the_pink_girl for tolerating my moans and groans of pain on the phone and for speaking to me at length whilst I merely lay there being ill. Thanks babe! *hug* *kiss* *cuddle* Ooooh and also a huge *kiss* back at ya for the lovely "kiss" you sent in the post this morning. It was delivered to my bed as soon as I woke up and, recognising the handwriting, made me grin hugely, before I had even opened it! So thanks for keeping me a grinning, if ill, boy!

So - there's why I haven't been around - been one very ill bunny! I've lost a load of weight (well I've eaten twice since last saturday) which is a good thing perhaps - wonder if I can keep it off! For now its back to my bed and my book - tiredness take a hold again!
